Update from Rwanda

Economic policy silver lining - coaching as a BPN "premium product"

Political-economic situation

Inflationary pressures are rising in Rwanda, prompting the national bank to tighten the monetary reins. Inflation was rather subdued after the pandemic measures in 2021. However, it has accelerated rapidly in the current year as a result of slowing and overpriced imports.

Fortunately, Rwanda has various export opportunities at its disposal, which entrepreneurs are making active use of: Rwanda is leading the "Francophonie" worldwide for 2 years (comparable to the Commonwealth) and is one of the 7 pilot countries of the "Africa Continental Free Trade Area" (AfCFTA), which aims at tax relief in trade across the continent. These are exceptional opportunities and we are therefore guiding entrepreneurs to take advantage of these unique opportunities.

Activities BPN

In the 3rd quarter, more than 200 consulting units (coachings) were held - the demand for professional decision support and for the realization of entrepreneurial potential increases year after year. The coaching team is ambitious and each:r continues to train specifically in their working methods. The Business Academy is also on the upswing: the seminar room is constantly occupied - in this quarter alone we welcomed over 200 participants!

The business owners' association is receiving more and more tasks and recognition throughout the country. This can be seen in the deepened exchange with the government, more cooperation with foreign investors and the increasing responsibility delegated to it for important events.

Challenges

BPN-Rwanda now has 7 coaches who are top performers. We are doing everything we can to keep these professionals in our ranks.
