Erica's passion for baking, which she inherited from her mother, led her to entrepreneurship. Combined with a desire to build relationships with family and friends by sharing high quality baked goods. In 2013, Erica returned to her home country of Rwanda after completing her studies in the USA, where she had grown up. To settle in Rwanda, Erica, driven by her passion for baking, started a bakery with a friend.
While the business flourished, Erica and her friend parted ways due to differences in opinion, which led to the closure of their shared bakery. However, in the middle of 2020, Erica revived the business as a hobby in her own kitchen, baking with the support of her house manager, who later trained her as a 'bakery manager'. Erica received many orders, which prompted her to turn it into a serious business. She decided to give up her full-time job, hired more employees and moved from her home kitchen to a commercial kitchen in an upscale neighborhood of Kigali. Since then, Erica has been running her own bakery.
