A springboard for entrepreneurs: BPN's new location in Musanze

A new chapter for entrepreneurs is beginning in Musanze, the lively tourist center of Rwanda. Thanks to BPN Rwanda and the Mastercard Foundation, a new BPN location has been opened there to promote entrepreneurship in the north of the country.

In Musanze, the second largest city in Rwanda and a tourism hub, a new chapter is beginning for entrepreneurs. Thanks to a fruitful partnership between BPN Rwanda and the Mastercard Foundation, a new BPN location was opened in Musanze in January. This initiative aims to promote entrepreneurship in northern Rwanda, a region known for its breathtaking volcanoes and majestic mountain gorillas.

So far, BPN has mainly focused on supporting entrepreneurs in and around Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. The opening of the office in Musanze is a crucial step to reach and support more entrepreneurs in the northern regions. With the new location, BPN can add 20 additional entrepreneurs to its program, an important milestone in its mission to strengthen sustainable entrepreneurship in the country.

Andrew, a former BPN participant who was involved in his parents' business in 2015, will manage the new BPN office in Musanze. As a former participant, he already knows the BPN program inside out. Thanks to his work in the city administration, he enjoys a high reputation in Musanze. The team in Musanze is completed by Felix, who acts as a business coach.

The kick-off was crowned with a business plan workshop at the beginning of March, which was attended by 23 enthusiastic participants. This event marks the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at giving entrepreneurs the tools they need to make their businesses a success.

The partnership with the Mastercard Foundation underlines the importance and potential of BPN's work in Rwanda. Out of more than 70 organizations evaluated in the country, BPN was selected as a strategic partner for the next 5 years.
