Megi is a trained pianist and worked as a music teacher abroad for several years. Despite her professional success, she always harbored the desire to become an entrepreneur and devote herself to practical work. After her return to Georgia, she and her German business partner came up with the idea of producing sausages according to a German recipe. In order to realize this vision, Megi completed an internship in a sausage factory in Germany, where she learned the craft of sausage making and various recipes
Megi started her first production on the family farm near the former German settlement of Elisabethtal, around 50 km southwest of Tbilisi. She was soon able to win a nearby German restaurant as her first customer. Today, her range includes 3 different types of sausage: a classic bratwurst, a cheese sausage and a chilli-flavored version. As Megi knows that a really good sausage can only be made from high-quality ingredients, she only uses hand-picked, fresh meat from local butchers. As a result, she was soon able to gain more regular customers. The ever-increasing demand prompted Megi to build a modern production and drying room that meets the latest hygiene standards.
At the same time, Megi is working with her business partner to develop a website and establish a social media presence. In the future, she plans to open a factory store with an integrated restaurant in the courtyard of her property. This will give locals from Tbilisi and international visitors the opportunity to visit her business and enjoy freshly grilled sausages on site.
