Making Sustainability Visible
With the opening of a new solar power plant in Bishkek, BPN is sending a clear message about sustainable entrepreneurship and long-term thinking. The plant represents more than just the use of renewable energy: it demonstrates that economic development and the responsible use of resources can go hand in hand.
Entrepreneurship with a Long-Term Perspective
For many years, the BPN Foundation has been supporting entrepreneurs in Kyrgyzstan on their journey toward building long-term, successful, and stable businesses. The focus is not on short-term success, but on the sustainable development of entrepreneurial structures.
These include in-depth knowledge of business administration, sound corporate management, access to financing, and the ability to assess opportunities and risks with foresight.
This long-term perspective is crucial, especially in a dynamic economic environment. Entrepreneurs create jobs, develop new products and services, and thereby make an important contribution to their country’s economic development. At the same time, the question of how to shape growth in a way that also opens up opportunities for future generations is becoming increasingly important.
Responsibility begins with one's own actions
The new solar power system at the BPN site in Bishkek embodies this concept. It demonstrates in concrete terms how sustainable solutions can be integrated into everyday work and how organizations can take responsibility themselves.
In this way, BPN also serves as a role model for the entrepreneurs supported by the foundation.
At the opening ceremony, Siroco Messerli, the Swiss Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, praised BPN’s role in promoting entrepreneurship and private-sector development. BPN’s work helps strengthen entrepreneurial skills, build sustainable businesses, and thereby create long-term jobs and economic opportunities.
