Noella is 33 years old, mother of 3 children and lives with her family in Musanze. Even as a child, she had a deep passion for nature. She spent a lot of time growing vegetables and herbs and developed a keen sense of healthy eating. As an adult, she realized how widespread the idea was that a balanced diet had to be expensive and necessarily include meat. To counter this idea, she started growing mushrooms - a healthy, nutritious and affordable alternative. Within just two years, she had become a well-known supplier of high-quality mushrooms in the region. A key moment was when she met a Dutch family looking for accommodation in Musanze - to no avail, everything was fully booked. This experience inspired Noella to create a place where people could relax in nature. Together with her new friends, she planted trees, vegetables, herbs and flowers - and thus laid the foundations for her own vacation resort.
Today, Noella offers a nature-oriented retreat with activities such as hiking, bird watching and gorilla trekking. Sustainability takes center stage - ideal for nature and environmentally conscious guests. During the pandemic, the company remained active, supported the local community and continued to develop. Today, Noella employs 12 people. The biggest challenges lie in attracting a demanding clientele, quality assurance and costly expansion. With the help of BPN, it is working hard to strengthen its operational structure and realize its vision of a modern, family-friendly eco-resort.
