Christine has a master's degree in hotel management and fulfilled her dream of running her own tourism business in 2022. The 34-year-old mother of one opened a family hotel in Kigali. Inspired by her time abroad, where families had access to various play and leisure areas, Christine recognized a similar need in Kigali. With an entrepreneurial spirit and financial acumen, she finally closed this gap in services. The hotel is aimed at middle and upper class families and offers a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.
Christine's hotel also offers exceptional catering with fresh organic food sourced from her sister company, a farm in Rwamagana. Christine is currently working on increasing the proportion of food sourced directly from her farm from 25% to 80% to offer her guests a true farm-to-fork experience.
One of the challenges Christine faces is the limited accommodation available at the hotel, which only has 6 rooms, making it difficult to accommodate larger groups. Her long-term vision is to buy land and expand the hotel to 30 rooms, a large playground and a restaurant area. Since taking part in the BPN program, Christine believes she has acquired important business management skills. She is particularly pleased with the new clarity in her business vision and the improvements in the organization of her finances. We look forward to continuing to work with her!
