In 2008, Appolinarie and her husband bought a plot of land with the idea of building a semi-detached house. They planned to live in one part of the house and rent out the other. After the house was finished, however, they realized that it was too big for just 2 people as their sons were studying abroad. They realized that there was a lack of destinations for weekend getaways and restaurants in their area. They therefore decided to convert their home into a resort. With the support of her family, Appolinarie turned this idea into reality in 2021.
Together with her son Cedrick, she invested 1 year to learn hotel management. They also hired a team of experienced employees. Today, Appolinarie and her team offer various services, including 9 rooms, a bar, a restaurant, meeting rooms, a swimming pool and outdoor catering. Appolinarie currently employs 40 permanent staff, 90% of whom are young people.
Despite its success, Appolinarie faces challenges in the areas of finance and personnel management. To ensure the long-term survival of the company and a smooth business succession, Appolinarie is working with her son, who plays a strategic role in the company and, together with his mother, uses all of BPN's services. Appolinarie is particularly keen to acquire knowledge in the areas of financial management, leadership and human resources.
