Otgontsetseg studied business administration in Taiwan and returned to Mongolia after graduating. On her return, she decided to set up her own bakery. In 2016, when she decided to take this step, Otgontsetseg realized that there was a shortage of good bread and other baked goods in Mongolia. When she lived in Taiwan, she had admired Taiwanese baked goods and discovered this gap in the Mongolian market.
Today, Otgontsetseg already employs 30 people in 750m2 of premises, which it currently rents. The product range includes sandwich bread, wholemeal bread, eclairs, roulades and various cakes, which are sold by the slice. The company sells its products through supermarket chains, so-called convenience stores. In recent years, over 200 convenience stores have opened in Ulaanbaatar, promoting a new lifestyle in Mongolia. This means that portioned food still has great potential in Mongolia and represents a growth market.
Although Otgontsetseg studied business administration, she had no professional experience in the administration of a company. She therefore decided to take part in the BPN program to further her business management training. In addition to the seminars, Otgontsetseg is particularly interested in individual business coaching.
For the future, Otgontsetseg sees even more potential in the area of individually packaged baked goods for supermarkets and would like to expand her product range in this area accordingly. She is currently thinking about new products such as cream puffs and cream buns. Her vision is to become the market leader in Mongolia in this area.
