Together for tourism: Swiss tourism students meet BPN entrepreneurs in Rwanda

Students from the Bernese Oberland School of Tourism (TFBO) met passionate BPN entrepreneurs and experienced tourism at first hand. Read how this exchange became a real win-win situation for both sides.

Insight into Rwanda's tourism scene
The seminar week took the TFBO students to a completely new environment: Rwanda. With the support of the BPN Foundation, they visited 6 Rwandan entrepreneurs from the tourism industry who are supported by BPN.

A central element of the week was the joint study project. The students worked on developing ideas and solutions for the challenges faced by entrepreneurs. On the last day, they presented the results in Karongi to BPN representatives from Switzerland and Rwanda.

Passion and new perspectives
For many of the students, meeting the entrepreneurs was a personal highlight. "We were deeply impressed by the enthusiasm and perseverance of the Rwandan entrepreneurs," reported one student. The entrepreneurs in turn benefited from the fresh perspectives and ideas of the students, which gave them new impetus for their companies.

Supported by experienced coaches
The students were accompanied by TFBO Head of School Stefan Otz and two experienced coaches: Sandra Räber, Managing Director of Baumeler Reisen, and Isabel Wirth from iwents and Kombinierbar. They brought specialist knowledge and practical relevance to the week and supported the students with valuable feedback and advice.

A win-win situation for both sides
The seminar week was a complete success: the students took away practical experience that will inspire them for their future careers, and the entrepreneurs were able to benefit from new approaches and perspectives. The BPN Foundation would like to thank everyone involved for the successful collaboration!
