Rosine is from Burundi and has a university degree in autism and related disorders from France. She has completed specialized training in behavior analysis at Autisme Basse Normandie, which makes her a recognized expert in dealing with autism and related disorders. With more than 15 years of experience working with autistic people in France, Rosine has made it her mission to bring her expertise to Rwanda.
Her journey took an important turn when, from 2010 to 2013, she began training future educators in Rwanda as part of the MIDA program (Migration et Développement en Afrique des Grands Lacs), preparing them to provide psychological and educational care for people with autism. Faced with the lack of resources for autistic children in Rwanda, Rosine founded her own center for children on the autism spectrum in 2014. Her vision is to provide professional care and support to children with autism, raise awareness and promote a positive approach to autism in Rwanda.
Today, 63 children between the ages of 3 and 15 live at the center. Rosine would like to increase the capacity to 150 children and expand the infrastructure to meet the growing demand. It also wants to develop tools for remote care using mobile technologies and offer comprehensive training for specialists and healthcare staff.
To achieve her goals, Rosine is participating in the BPN program, where she is focusing on implementing a sound financial management system, optimizing organizational operations and developing a sustainable business model that aligns with her long-term vision for the center.
