After graduating with a degree in food science in 2021, Tresor met a chili farmer who was struggling to sell 1 ton of chili. Although he helped her dry the chili peppers, 50% of the harvest was lost due to delays in finding a buyer. This experience motivated Tresor to focus on processing chili peppers, recognizing a gap in the market and working to protect farmers while increasing the value of chili peppers. Driven by his passion to create products, Tresor launched his first own chili sauce in 2022.
He started with one type of chili sauce and expanded his range to include 2 more flavors: an oil-based chili sauce and a pineapple-flavored chili sauce. He acquired the S-Label, a Rwandan standardization mark that guarantees the quality and safety of the products and allows him to export one of his flavours. Today, his chili sauces are available in more than 100 supermarkets in Rwanda, and Tresor has signed a contract with one of the five-star hotels in Rwanda, which offers his sauces as a condiment on the tables.
Tresor works in a production facility with 4 rooms equipped with simple machines so that he can control production efficiently. His goal is to expand his market to more restaurants and hotels with western cuisine and to target lovers of high-quality chili sauces. Tresor's vision is to diversify its product line and become a center of taste. Tresor's journey reflects a commitment to reducing post-harvest losses and increasing the value of chili. Trevor is now seeking BPN's support to strategically structure his business for broader success.
