Aline is very committed to empowering disadvantaged women. Her mission began after high school, when she herself had difficulty finding suitable work. She realized that many women in her community, especially single mothers and women with limited access to education, faced similar challenges. In response, she initiated the "Sunday Market" project. There, she offered craft training and networked talented women with potential customers.
During this time, Aline noticed a growing demand for locally made, high quality leather goods. She seized the opportunity, designed professional leather bags, and soon received enthusiastic feedback from her first customers. For Aline, her leather goods company, which she founded in 2020, is more than just a business; it's also a vehicle to invest in developing the skills of the women she supports.
Aline specializes in products for Rwandan business people and, despite humble beginnings with a small team and limited equipment, pays great attention to detail and European quality standards. European business customers have already taken notice of their products.
A lifelong learner, Aline attributes much of her business success to her relentless pursuit of continuous improvement and her ability to learn from mistakes. Her ambitious goals include expanding production capacity to open up new markets and establish herself as a brand for high-quality and sustainable leather goods. Of particular note is their commitment to social responsibility: 30% of the company's revenue is reinvested in training women in need in Rwanda to provide them with employment opportunities, transforming lives and communities.
