E-marketplace for farmers

Herve G.

In 2022, he and his business partner Leon founded their company with the ambitious goal of revolutionizing African agriculture. They are committed to solving farmers' most pressing challenges. Their central strategy is the launch of an app that gives farmers access to the market and valuable information. The app is an expression of Herves' innovative approach. It provides real-time market data and keeps farmers up to date with current prices and trends. It also serves as an important platform to connect farmers directly with potential buyers and bypass exploitative middlemen.

Project description

In order to reach remote and unconnected farming communities, Herve and his team have integrated USSD technology into the app. This means that even farmers without a smartphone or internet access can use the app's functions via a simple and easily accessible code. This makes the app accessible to a broader section of the population. Beyond the app, Herve and Leon have other ambitious plans to expand their influence. In the next 2 years, Herve wants to introduce a standardized classification system that guarantees product quality and strengthens trust between farmers and buyers. This important innovation will strengthen the trust of both parties and improve the entire agricultural ecosystem.

Herve plans to expand into 3 more African countries in the next 5 years. Herve and his business partner are aware of the difficulties along the way and are therefore seeking BPN's support.
