Yara is a trained tropical forester. She completed 2 years of her studies in Costa Rica before working for the community in Matagalpa for a long time. She later specialized in climate change - but the desire to run her own business remained. Inspired by a friend who had set up an animal care business in the Pacific region, Yara developed her own idea. Unusually for Nicaragua, she carried out a thorough market analysis before moving around 150 kilometers to Diriomo with her husband in 2020 to start her business.
It started small with its own capital: animal feed in the range, clear target groups and a great deal of commitment. Today, Yara employs 4 people and offers products and advice for 2 key customer groups: farms with livestock and pet owners. Her range extends from feed and medicines to basic veterinary care. She now wants to develop this area further - with her own veterinary practice, including operations, as soon as she has the relevant license. Services such as pet care and a move to a larger, central building are also being planned.
Yara came to BPN because she realized that she was reaching her limits. Although she knew what a business plan was and managed her finances properly, she needed more to achieve sustainable growth. BPN's clear and practical tools now help her to focus her vision and manage the company in a more targeted way. She would also like support in managing her growing team in order to continue to grow successfully and in a structured manner.
