Winston runs a successful optician business together with his wife, who is also an optician. After completing his studies, he spent two years gaining valuable experience in an optician's store, where he not only deepened his specialist knowledge but also learned about the business management processes of a company. In 2017, he took the plunge into self-employment - with just USD 1,500 start-up capital and some equipment, for which his father also supported him financially. Thanks to hard work and a clear focus, the business grew steadily. In 2020, his wife finally joined him after gaining valuable experience in one of Nicaragua's largest optician chains.
But Winston wanted to do more than just sell glasses - his aim was to promote his customers' eye health holistically. That's why he is constantly training and offers much more comprehensive services than ordinary opticians. He financed the necessary special equipment from his own profits. As his business grew, however, he realized that he needed support in the areas of finance, marketing and personnel management. That's why he turned to BPN. As is so often the case in the healthcare industry, his desire to help people came into conflict with the business side of the company. But at BPN, he learned to sell more consciously - not just to help. Thanks to his business plan, he now has a clear vision for the future and knows exactly how he wants to develop his company.
His aim is to continue to grow, open additional locations and offer high-quality, integrated services. At the same time, Winston is working to define its market segment more clearly in order to target the right customers.
