Tatyana studied business administration and always dreamed of having her own business where she could earn her own money every day. In the end, Tatyana made this dream come true and opened her own restaurant in 2010. This was made possible by a small financial start-up grant from her father and grandmother. As Tatyana's father had cows at the time, they used the milk to make cocoa and quesillos, a typical Nicaraguan dish made from tortilla, cheese, cream and onions. Thanks to its strategically favorable location on an important connecting road, Tatyana was very popular right from the start. Using her own savings, she continuously expanded the business - both the restaurant's infrastructure and the menu.
Although Tatyana now has a high turnover by Nicaraguan standards, she realized that she needed help with her future strategy to get her finances under control and also to be able to work with modern methods in marketing. Even after the first BPN workshop, she says that she now sees things much more clearly, both in terms of her finances and her plan for the future.
In future, Tatyana would like to build the restaurant on her own land, as the current location is leased from the municipality and will disappear with the planned expansion of the connecting road. She would also like to build hotel rooms for travelers and attract more families as customers.
