Bakery

Leana P.

Leana studied architecture, but her passion has always been cooking - and baking in particular. The restaurant business seems to have been passed on to Leana, she grew up in a restaurant. She has always loved trying out different recipes and cooking and baking for friends and family. Her work colleagues finally encouraged Leana to sell her baked goods. She followed her passion and took a bakery course in Costa Rica. Finally, in 2018, she decided to open her own bakery and become self-employed.

Project description

Leana uses only the best raw materials for her delicious baked creations and adorns them with decorations that are second to none. With the help of social media, Leana has experienced rapid growth since the beginning. She now also offers a catering service in her business. In the future, she would like to expand her range to include savory, gluten-free and diabetic-friendly pastries. Her vision is also to open a small sales kiosk in a shopping center.

Leana currently receives support with administrative work and deliveries from her husband Leonel, who works full-time as a pediatrician. As neither of them had any business training, they turned to BPN. Leana is delighted with the information she has already received: with the help of the business plan, she can now see much more clearly what her customers really want and is also actively monitoring the competition. Leana has already learned to keep her finances in order, to keep invoices instead of throwing them away and to check what turnover she actually needs to achieve in order to be profitable.
