Bakery

Meerim K.

Meerim completed various apprenticeships and worked in different industries until she finally discovered her passion for baking. In 2018, baking was still a hobby for Meerim and she occasionally accepted orders for cakes and tarts. Over time, however, she received more and more orders and her favorite activity, baking, took up more and more of her time. As the orders increased, Meerim also bought more and more equipment. Eventually, Meerim decided to become a self-employed baker and attend further training to professionalize her production. In 2021, she took part in a three-day training course to become a "Viennese pastry chef", where she was taught how to make croissants. After 2 months of trial and error, she finally took her first croissant orders from the city's coffee houses.

Project description

At the end of 2021, Meerim found an opportunity to rent a room in a local hotel for her bakery and outsourced the business from home. By this time, with the help of her family, some grants and a loan, she had already purchased enough equipment for the bakery. This enabled her to set up a professional bakery in the new premises. Croissants are still Meerim's core product. It also has more than 15 other items in its range. Meerim has organized the delivery of all types of baked goods to more than 10 cafés in the city. She also takes daily private orders from customers via social media and organizes the delivery of ready-made pastry sets for coffee breaks to seminars. Meerim wants to use the training at BPN to further expand and professionalize her business. She plans to open more branches.
