Giorgi is a philologist and was a university lecturer for 15 years. In addition to his work as a lecturer, Giorgi had been interested for years in the production of biohumus through worm composting and saw promising sales opportunities in the Bolnisi region, which is known for its vegetable and wine growing. He spent months studying literature on the subject until he began to set up a worm composting plant in wooden crates in an outbuilding on his farm. Step by step, his current company was born.
Giorgi's environment initially reacted skeptically, as organic humus was new and largely unknown in the region. However, Giorgi was soon able to win over the first organic winegrowers and organic farmers as loyal customers. His farm now produces around 500 kg of organic humus per month all year round. Demand is so high that Giorgi could easily sell five times as much. However, he would need an additional plot of land with a building, which would involve a high level of investment. As a cautious businessman, Giorgi has decided to grow in small steps at first and gradually invest his profits in the construction of new compost boxes and earthworms.
At the moment, Giorgi runs his business exclusively with the support of family members. However, if growth continues at this rate, he will soon be dependent on the support of external employees. Giorgi is keen to constantly expand his knowledge and further his business education. With the help of BPN, he wants to learn from successful companies in Georgia and Switzerland and develop his company further.
