Olivier, a 29-year-old entrepreneur with a creative flair, did not find his way to woodworking by a direct route: After studying land surveying, he decided to follow his passion for craftsmanship, inspired by experienced carpenters. As part of the MIC program, he learned the carpentry trade from scratch, laying the foundation for his current company, which started operations in June 2023.
Strategically located in the north-western tourism center of Rwanda, Olivier and his team produce high-quality wooden furniture and interiors for hotels, libraries, offices and public facilities. His products combine modern design with cultural identity - an approach that gives him a clear competitive advantage. By using local materials and creatively reusing wood waste, the company demonstrates not only innovation but also a strong commitment to sustainability.
With a growing customer base, particularly in the hotel and corporate sector, the company has quickly established itself as a reliable partner. However, the path to sustainable growth is not free of hurdles: A lack of machinery, limited financial resources and insufficient marketing resources are holding back potential. To overcome these challenges, Olivier relies on the support of BPN. He is looking for targeted coaching, training in business management and access to a strong network.
His long-term goal is ambitious: He wants to build the leading brand for wooden furniture and interior design in Rwanda - known for quality, design and reliability. Together with his business partner, Olivier is pursuing this vision with a great willingness to learn, determination and the will to gain new impetus for his entrepreneurial path through BPN.
