Honey production and distribution

Ummy U.

Ummy is a dynamic entrepreneur who has laid the foundations for a fast-growing honey brand with courage, adaptability and a clear commitment to quality. Inspired by her father's stories about the healing properties of honey, she initially started selling on a small scale in her neighborhood. Growing demand led to collaboration with local traders and imports from Tanzania. A quality inspection that revealed defects in the imported honey was the turning point: Ummy decided to switch to local production and guarantee the highest standards herself.

Today, it works with 150 beekeepers, runs 350 of its own hives and employs a permanent team of 5 people. Its certified products stand for ethical sourcing and first-class quality and are sold in supermarkets, hotels and restaurants - even beyond the country's borders.

With a background in business informatics, Ummy has both entrepreneurial understanding and technical know-how. She is relying on BPN's support to further develop her company. The aim is to strengthen her strategic and operational skills and make targeted inroads into direct export markets - with a clear vision for sustainable growth and international presence.
