Project description

In 2015, she noticed that there were a lot of pumpkins in her village. No one really paid attention to them as they are perceived as "food for the hopeless"! She started a business and began roasting, packaging and selling pumpkin seeds at home. Later, she learned to dry the pumpkins and make flour from them.

In order to get enough pumpkins for processing, she mobilized a local women's cooperative and convinced them to grow more pumpkins. During the same period, she received support from the local authorities to promote the health benefits of pumpkins. In fact, her flour was used to supplement the diet of malnourished children in her community.

In 2016, she registered her company and relocated it to the capital. This was because her products were better understood there and demand was greater. Although Ange has received a lot of attention for her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, she still does not have a fixed production location and still runs the company in a non-formal way. She decided to join BPN to get support and skills on how to build a professional business. If Ange manages not to be destroyed by the media attention, her business has a lot of potential.
