Services for the diaspora

Maria C.

Maria initially trained in banking and finance, but then worked in sales and marketing. When she worked for a company that processed remittances from Nicaraguans living abroad, her interest in this field of activity grew. Since her husband works at a bank and supports her in strategic and financial matters, she decided to start her own business in the field of remittances in 2023. Little by little, Maria added new services, such as sending parcels with DHL or advising emigrants and applying for visas for all permits. This is how her current company, which offers services for Nicaraguans living abroad, came into being.

Project description

As the business grew rapidly, Maria realized she needed help with organization and administration and turned to BPN. She says that working with the finances and business plan helped her because it enabled her to sort out things she may have already known but didn't apply on a day-to-day basis. The advice also made her realize that the rapid expansion and integration of new services brings challenges at the marketing level, such as how to communicate the various offers clearly and attractively. In the future, Maria wants to consolidate her offering and grow in volume through additional branches, agents or a franchising model. She also wants to create a digital platform and automate processes as much as possible. We look forward to accompanying Maria in her ambitious plans.
