Katherine R.

Katherine, now 29 years old, graduated from dental school in 2017 and opened her own dental practice in her mother's house just one year later, in 2018, during turbulent times. With some equity and financial support from a loan for the initial equipment, Katherine started her own dental practice. Through clever marketing on social media, she was able to quickly build up a customer base and steadily expand her dental practice. Among other things, she serves a niche target group by also offering her services in English to foreign tourists in Granada, further diversifying her customer base.

Project description

Katherine also invests in her further education, particularly in the area of nutrition, and places great emphasis on dental prophylaxis rather than just focusing on corrective measures. This approach is not yet very common in Nicaragua. As Katherine is aware that she lacks business management skills, she is seeking support from the BPN Foundation. She has enthusiastically absorbed the methods and tools she has already learned from us and is actively applying them in her practice. In the future, Katherine plans to purchase a modern X-ray machine and offer this service to all dentists in Granada, where there is currently a lack of this technology. Her goal is to continue to grow and hire additional dentists to be able to treat more patients. We look forward to working with Katherine and supporting her in her continued entrepreneurial development.
