Tour Guide & Hotelier

Gocha B.

Since 2007, Gocha and his family have been running a travel agency and hotel in Zhenako, a mountain village at 2,080 meters above sea level on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus. Like most Tushetian villages, Shenako is only inhabited in the summer months from mid-June to the beginning of October, when the shepherds drive their flocks to the alpine meadows.

During this time, Gocha offers his customers catering and accommodation in his own hotel with 6 rooms. He also offers tours to introduce his visitors to the traditions, history and delicacies of his homeland. Gocha's regular customers are primarily middle-class Georgian families looking for fresh air and relaxation in the mountains.

Project description

Even during the pandemic, Gocha was able to welcome many guests. He wants to continuously increase the occupancy rate of his business. His aim is for his guests to spend more days on vacation with him in future, so that the hotel is also better utilized during the week. To this end, he will intensify his marketing activities and work more closely with local travel providers. At the moment, he attracts most of his guests to the company Facebook page, which has 85,000 followers. Gocha would like to expand his guesthouse and work more closely with other local guides and drivers to expand the range of tours on offer in future.

Gocha is diligent and willing to invest in his further training during the off-season. He has already attended BPN training courses on "Business plan development", "General business management", "Time management", "Employee management", "Positioning" and "Social media marketing". Gocha is also already making use of the coaching offer and has worked with BPN to think about how he could further develop his business.
