Bakery and café

Ia B.

Ia has a big heart for her home region and wants her business to contribute to the development of gentle mountain tourism in Tusheti. With her business, which she has been running since 2015, she wants to create a livelihood for the mountain dwellers through additional income and extra income and put a stop to the exodus to the cities. It is just as important to her to preserve old Tushetian traditions and make them accessible to a wider audience. That is why she uses every spare minute to learn new things and run her business professionally. A keen participant and attentive listener, Ia has already attended a number of BPN seminars and workshops and has also taken advantage of coaching in connection with upcoming financing issues.

Project description

The bakery and café range includes bread made from old local wheat varieties, various baked goods, soups, herbal teas and beer brewed using traditional methods. Ia also sells products from neighboring farmers such as cheese, curd cheese, sour cream, yogurt and potatoes. In master classes, tourists are given the opportunity to try their hand at preparing local dishes. The most important customers include domestic and foreign tourists, local guesthouses, civil servants and students.

Ia is extremely hard-working and has built up her business from scratch together with her family. She wants to give others the motivation to start small and develop slowly and sustainably.
