BPN Uganda: A home for entrepreneurship in Kampala
BPN Uganda has reached an important milestone by moving into its new office in Kampala. After a careful location search, we are now working at 45 Kira Road - just a few steps away from the Nakasero business district and Acacia Mall. A location that enables visibility, access and exchange.
At 202 m², the new premises offer ideal conditions for our work: a spacious seminar room, several offices and meeting rooms as well as space for a growing team. The office has been in operation since August - with Ashley, our first local employee, driving the implementation of our programs as Business Academy Coordinator.
A place of encounter
The official inauguration on August 22 brought together over 30 entrepreneurs. The event showed what BPN stands for:
- Establishing and strengthening networks
- Stimulating ideas and sharing best practices
- Empowering entrepreneurs, creating jobs and promoting prosperity
This is exactly what the new office creates the right environment for - for seminars, workshops and meetings that have a lasting impact.
First steps, visible effect
Parallel to the opening of the office, program work is underway: the first cohort of entrepreneurs is being recruited, business plan workshops are being held and our training materials are being consistently tailored to the local context. Administrative groundwork is also underway - the registration of BPN Uganda is complex, but is being professionally managed with the support of a local law firm.
Experience and commitment
Country Director Daniel Matter has known Kampala for many years. His conclusion: the city has developed noticeably, both in terms of its infrastructure and its economy. During his two-week stay, he led workshops, accompanied the introduction of Ashley and made numerous contacts. His commitment on the ground makes it clear: with experience and presence, BPN Uganda can build structures more quickly.
Outlook
The next seminar will follow in November - on the topic of how entrepreneurs can identify and use their USP.
