Placement of nursing staff

Booked

Janet A.

Janet and Audrey founded a company in 2022 that was born out of a very personal experience: the two women had to witness how stressful caring for sick relatives can be without professional support. For Janet, the trigger was a particularly formative situation—when she was forced to sleep on the floor of a hospital to be with her seriously ill mother. This experience gave rise to a desire to spare other families this very burden and to close a gap in the Rwandan healthcare system.

Today, your company offers access to qualified nursing staff for care at home or in hospital via a digital platform. With a team of 10 employees and over 30 cooperating nursing professionals, around 30 to 40 patients are cared for each week. The recipe for success lies in the empathetic, customer-centered approach that builds trust and improves the quality of life of those receiving care.

Project description

Despite its growth, the company faces challenges such as a shortage of skilled workers in the care sector and internal organizational hurdles. To drive forward the structural development of her company, Janet has joined the BPN program.

With a clear vision, it aims to become the leading care platform in East Africa. Over the next five years, it plans to care for over 200 patients a day, establish a training institute for nursing staff, and offer additional services such as patient transport and digital doctor consultations. Expansion into Uganda and Tanzania is already planned, with the aim of sustainably improving the quality of care throughout the region.
