Health clinic

Eugene R.

Eugene is an experienced physician and dedicated family man. After more than a decade in medicine and a Masters in Public Health, his expertise is matched only by his passion for quality healthcare. In 2013, he started his own practice to improve the quality of care in his community.

Eugene recognized the urgent need for advanced medical care in northwestern Rwanda as well as in the neighboring communities in southwestern Uganda and western Congo. Many people in these areas were forced to travel long distances to the capital Kigali to receive specialized medical care, which was often not possible due to limited resources. Determined to close this gap, Eugene founded his own health clinic.

Project description

What began as a small outpatient consultation center has developed over the years into a thriving business that now also offers inpatient services, physiotherapy, minor surgery and laboratory facilities. However, Eugene's vision goes far beyond the clinic's current services. Eugene's vision is to develop the clinic into a comprehensive health center with a focus on orthopaedic surgery. He wants to meet the great demand for these services and give children born with correctable physical disabilities the chance of a normal life.

As a successful physician, Eugene has recognized the importance of management skills. With BPN's support, he now wants to develop his clinic, plan the handover of his business to the next generation and develop his management skills.
