Candle production

Diane U.

Diane was fascinated by the smell and light of candles when she went to church with her aunt to pray as a small child. She grew up with the dream of making her own candles and replacing the traditional kerosene lantern, which could be harmful to health due to its smoke.

Project description

Diane studied biology and chemistry at high school. She then researched online how to make candles and began to successfully make a candle herself. A year later, she started making candles professionally from home with apart-time employee. She dedicated herself to her passion, founded her own company and soon sold her first candles to private individuals, hotels and local supermarkets.

Diane joined the BPN program at the end of 2021 and has already learned through initial training and coaching that the customer must be the focus if a business is to succeed. She is now looking forward to acquiring the business management skills that will help her run her company successfully. Today, Diane can produce 60 candles a day with 5 employees. Her vision for the next 5 years is to run a factory with modern equipment that will allow her to produce affordable candles with natural and local ingredients. Diane is a passionate and inquisitive entrepreneur and we look forward to accompanying her in the development of her business.
