Winston M.

After earning a degree in business administration, Winston gained diverse professional experience in the family business, in banking, at a call center, and at other companies. A career change ultimately led to his decision to take the plunge into self-employment.

With a small amount of startup capital, he recognized the potential of the fashion and beauty industry and gradually built up the salon. His business management training, experience in customer service, and knack for finding the right employees now form an important foundation for the salon’s continued growth. His willingness to learn and his determination to turn a single location into a stable, long-term, and growing business have been particularly influential.

Project description

The hair salon started out with two stations and basic equipment. Thanks to its convenient location, more and more customers began coming in, allowing the salon to make further investments step by step. It is particularly important to the owner to work with stylists who not only know their craft but are also friendly, reliable, and dedicated. This approach, combined with flexible hours, has earned the salon a good reputation.

In day-to-day business, however, it became clear that business management knowledge alone is not enough. What matters most is regularly tracking the numbers and drawing the right conclusions from them. With BPN’s support, the owner began to better organize his finances and monitor the salon’s performance more closely. Today, he also uses simple software to help him with this. At the same time, he gained greater clarity about the direction the business should take in the future.

The plan is to continue expanding the salon and, in the long term, to open two to three additional locations. A second brand is also a possibility, which could be used to specifically target a higher-end customer segment. The goal is to grow step by step without losing the personal atmosphere and the high quality of the services.
