Liset G.

At 51, Liset can look back on an impressive journey that began in Cuba. At the age of nine, she was already helping out in her family's laboratory, developing an early sense of precision and responsibility. She later studied pharmacy and psychology before going to Nicaragua in 2003 as part of a training mission. There she taught and worked with children, driven by her deep desire to help people holistically. She then practiced as a doctor, further specialized, and supplemented her knowledge by studying Chinese medicine.

Driven by her conviction to offer effective and natural alternatives, she began producing herbal teas. However, she quickly recognized the challenge of inaccurate dosages. During the pandemic, she therefore set up her own laboratory with the simplest of means and developed drops based on herbal extracts that allowed for precise dosing. Initially hand-labeled and intended exclusively for her patients, the range continued to evolve. As the taste of the drops was not very popular, she switched to tablets made from dry powder.

Project description

Together with a partner, an expert in quality control and processes, she professionalized production and distribution. Today, the company supplies a pharmacy chain as well as a large supermarket chain. Demand is significantly exceeding expectations. Currently, the product range is positioned in the higher price segment and is aimed at customers who value quality and effective natural products. In the medium term, however, there are plans to develop additional product lines that are affordable for broader sections of the population without compromising on effectiveness and quality standards.

To cope with growing administrative and strategic demands, Liset sought support from BPN. With this assistance, she is not only strengthening her entrepreneurial skills, but also laying the foundation for further growth, certifications, and her long-term dream of owning her own production facility.
