Production of sweets

Solongo A.

Solongo started producing sweets in a room at home when she was toying with the idea of setting up her own business. Four years ago, Solongo finally took the plunge into self-employment and founded her current sweet company. In 2020, Solongo employed around 8 people; today she already employs 23. She wants to continue to create new jobs in the future and offer young employees prospects. In the long term, she would like to hand her company over to her children and continue to run it as a family business.

Project description

Solongo specializes in the production of various sweets. It sells its colorful sweets in various quantities in jars and plastic bags. Solongo's customers are mainly private individuals and occasionally also corporate customers. Her customers appreciate the taste, the color and the fact that they are made without preservatives. Corporate customers can order sweets as special orders, for example for advertising purposes. Solongo sells her products through larger supermarkets in Ulaanbaatar. Recently, it has also started selling its sweets in its own store. For a special customer experience, the sweets are made by hand right in front of the customers.

Sweets have a special tradition in Mongolia and are served everywhere as a welcome gift. That is why Solongo also sees further growth potential. She would also like to sell her products in the countryside in the future. She has already received her first orders. She would also like to expand the range with plant-based sweets enriched with natural vitamin C. Solongo is seeking support for these steps from BPN in the form of seminar attendance and coaching.
