Production of boots

Erdem M.

Erdem founded his shoe production business around ten years ago. The 47-year-old and his seven employees produce traditional Mongolian shoes. Erdem came into contact with this craft at an early age. Growing up in the countryside, he learned it from his father, who ran a similar business in the village. Together with his wife, the entrepreneur started producing this footwear after elementary school. Erdem has many years of experience and good technical skills. But his business has great potential to grow. He therefore wants to expand his entrepreneurial skills and has decided to take advantage of our BPN program.

Project description

Erdem specializes in winter boots for men in particular. His range includes various shaft boots with different linings. He also produces traditional, festive shoes that are worn on public holidays. During the summer months, he makes his products from shiny leather and without lining. Erdem's customers are mainly rural men such as cattle breeders, nomads, truck drivers or men who work outdoors. He sells the traditional, festive boots mainly in Ulaanbaatar. His customers appreciate the high-quality leather, the beautiful design and the fact that the shoes stay dry on the inside for a comfortable fit.

Erdem will continue to focus on his existing customers in the future. He would also like to expand his product range in order to attract new customers. He sees further potential in the public sector or in the industrial and construction sectors. He is currently developing a shoe for occupational safety. With our seminars and coaching sessions, he wants to get closer to these goals step by step.
