Project description

The private school currently teaches around 90 children from first to fourth grade. The lessons are based on the official Mongolian curriculum and are supplemented with additional lessons in accordance with the Swiss Curriculum 21. Erdene-Ochir mainly focuses on ethics, German and IT. The teaching of ethics is foreign in Mongolia and is therefore a specialty of the private school. The children can also eat lunch at the school and take the school bus if they wish. The parents want their children to receive a good education and therefore value the qualified teachers.

In the future, Erdene-Ochir would like to extend school lessons up to twelfth grade and increase the number of pupils. He also wants to offer a day care center for pre-school children. Erdene-Ochir shows a lot of initiative in developing his school and expanding the services. He also promotes the topic of ethics beyond his private school and is committed to increasing public dialog. In 2019, for example, he organized Mongolia's first ethics forum together with various organizations. He expects BPN to provide business training and, if necessary, individual coaching.

Development since 2019

Initially, the private school with 21 employees taught 90 children from 1st to 4th grade. In summer 2021, Erdene-Ochir and Orgil opened their second school building in Ulaanbaatar. Today, a total of 630 pupils are taught from Year 1 to Year 9. The school currently employs 75 staff. The potential for the next 3 to 5 years is huge, as more families will move to the districts of the Monte Rosa School and the school offers unique school subjects with curricula from Mongolia, Switzerland and Germany. The aim is to teach a total of 1,000 children up to year 12 from the start of school in 2022.
