Production of wheelchairs and walking aids

Sultanmurat E.

Following a market analysis in Kyrgyzstan, it was decided to organize the production of special appliances in Bishkek. For this purpose, a 72 square meter production workshop was built and equipped from containers for 4000 USD. Sultanmurat rented this production workshop, registered an official company "Taasir" in June 2021 and received official approval in April 2022. In the future, he wants to sell his production (chair, crutch, stand-up walker, wheelchairs, rollators and baby carriages) not only to the project/foundation, but also directly to private individuals, pharmacies, the Ministry of Health, organizations and associations. After three years, he even plans to start exporting to the neighboring countries of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. His current customers are the parents of children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities aged between 3.5 and 14 years. Sultanmurat says: "We already had interested parties from Uzbekistan, but we didn't have any official documents, so we haven't sold anything yet. Now we are ready. We will have products not only for disabled children, but also for healthy children, e.g. products for the development of children's fine motor skills."

Project description

Sultanmurat is 27 years old. He completed his specialist training as an electrician and gas welder in 2013 and then worked for 4 years as a welder in a construction company in Bishkek and then in a concrete factory in the north of Russia. He then moved to Moscow and worked there for 2 years as a sales representative in a large shopping center. After the outbreak of Corona, he came back to Bishkek and has been working as the coordinator of the Crosslink Development International project in Kyrgyzstan since 2019. This is a non-profit organization/foundation where Sultanmurat is responsible for the "Children at Risk" project. According to this project, adapted equipment is produced, namely special walking aids and baby carriages etc. for children with disabilities. According to Sultanmurat, this is the only production workshop in Kyrgyzstan that manufactures such devices. Basically, baby carriages and walkers for children with disabilities are supplied from abroad and the prices for imported goods are correspondingly high.
