Project description

In 2006, he set up his own workshop and began making metal yurts. Azamat knows the welding trade very well. He produced three yurts in the first year of production. Competition from China was fierce at first, but decreased due to the low quality of Chinese products.

Today, his production plant is located on the outskirts of Bishkek. The premises are rented. Azamat manufactures yurts with a diameter of five to twelve meters. His yurts are compact, quick to build and quick to dismantle. The metal structures are covered with waterproof material and thermal felt and decorated with ornaments. Azamat's yurts have a lifespan of around ten years.

Over the course of twelve years, Azamat has built up a good reputation with the manufacture of metal yurts. It participates in tenders from international organizations and regularly receives orders. The production volume increases every year. He produces 10 to 25 yurts in a month. The procurement costs of a yurt range from USD 900 to 5,800. Azamat sources the raw materials from Russia, China and Kyrgyzstan. One challenge for Azamat is motivating and managing his employees. He has a relatively high turnover rate because the competition pays good wages.

In the future, Azamat wants to make 20-metre yurts from metal structures and build a recreation zone near the Issyk-Ata resort. He plans to set up his yurts there as overnight accommodation and offer additional services such as riding lessons, hikes, local cuisine and more. He would like to export the yurts to Russia, Kazakhstan and the Arab countries. He also plans to patent their manufacture.

Azamat is an extremely talented craftsman who needs BPN's basic business training. He has a good feel for the business and cultivates contact with his customers.
